The Kansas Basketball Coaches Association has selected Coach Kristen Stapleton as the 2010-2011 Jr. High Girl’s Coach-of-the-Year.  She will be receiving the award in Topeka on August 4th at Washburn University during the KBCA awards program and the All-Star Game highlighting the top 24 Kansas boys and girls players.
"The Board of Education and the Administration of USD 226 along with the staff at Meade Junior High would like to congratulate Coach Stapleton on her award.  Her hard work and dedication to her players and to the coaching profession have culminated into an undefeated league championship this season. Her coaching goes beyond the court, and we at MJH are very fortunate to have Coach Stapleton working with our youth on a daily basis."

Coach Stapleton has been coaching at Meade Jr. High for six years with a record of 59-29.
2010-2011 season:  Undefeated League Champs.
2009-2010 season:  Runner-up League Champs.
2008-2009 season:  League Champions.
2007-2008 season:  Runner-up League Champs.
2004-2005 season:  League Champions.
Coach Stapleton started her coaching career at Southwestern Heights Jr. High School.  She coach three seasons with a record of 22 and 24 and a league championship in 97-98.
Coach Stapleton is a graduate of Southwestern Heights High School where she received many honors and awards.  She played all four years of basketball earning a record of 90 and 10 and an undefeated state championship in 1991-1992.
