April Warden may soon be seeing some additional duties at work.
Through an item at tonight’s Seward County Commission meeting, the human resource director could be appointed as an interim administrator.
The board had recently conducted interviews with three candidates for the position to replace outgoing administrator Mary Bloomer. At the commission’s May 2 meeting, chairman Jim Rice reported that the job had been offered to one of the candidates, but that person declined the offer. Rice asked that a work session be set to look at finding a replacement.
The board hosted a work session May 9, and interviews are being set up with two more candidates. Bloomer’s last day as administrator was May 10, and the commission has already designated Warden as interim liaison administrator until a candidate is selected to fill the position full time.
“Bobi Call will continue to fulfill her administrative duties and assist April as interim liaison administrator,” Bloomer said in a memo to county department heads and employees dated May 9. “The board will take formal action on this item at its meeting Monday evening, May 16.”
The proposed motion in the agenda packet is to appoint Warden as interim liaison administrator this evening, along with her HR director position, until a candidate is selected to fill the administrator position full time.
