Will anyone be going to Hawaii and back in a few minutes today?
Students at Cottonwood and Sunflower Intermediate Schools are able to do just that thanks to the Liberal Rotary Club.
In the past couple of weeks, members of Rotary have painted 20- by 30-foot, multicolored maps of the USA at each school in their playground areas. The maps are intended to help students have a better understanding of United States geography and will allow teachers to use the maps for various educational games.
Rotarians helping with the maps were John Engel, Craig Hay, Linda Ridley, Mike O’Kane, Mike Brack, Mark Schepers, Al Sill, Jim Karlan, Ray Allen, Shari Engel, Al Shank, Donna Sill, Don Witzke, Roxanne Witzkw, Annette Wilson, Wyatt Hough and Becky Robison.
The maps are a community service project of the Liberal Rotary Club. President is John Engel and for more information, he can be contacted at 624-2178 or
