Saturday night gunshots in La Chiripa Bar at 188 W. Pancake Blvd. sent one individual to the hospital and two others are being sought for questioning in an alleged attempted murder case.
“Officers responded to the scene at 9:07 and found evidence of several gun shots,” a release from Liberal Police Capt. Pat McClurg noted. “Officers located the male victim at a residence near the shooting location. Seward County Emergency Medical Services responded and transported the victim to Southwest Medical Center in serious condition.”
McClurg added this morning the victim has been upgraded to stable condition.
Witness reports suggested two males were involved in the shooting.
“Witnesses reported two Hispanic males entered the establishment and fired several shots,” the release noted. “One of the males was described to be about 45 to 50 years of age. The other male was described to be in his 20s. They were possibly driving a silver BMW.”
McClurg added the investigation into the incident is ongoing, and no arrests have been made at this time.
