JANET L. MEAD

Big Lake, Texas – Janet L. “Jan”  Mead, 59, died Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at her home.

She was born March 1, 1950, to  Ivel and Neoma M. Swaim Weber in Sioux City, Iowa.

She married George “Butch” Mead Aug. 29, 1972, in Liberal. He survives.

She attended the Bethel Baptist Church in Big Lake, Texas.

She is also survived by four sons, John Godslevsky, Doug Mead, Tyrone, Okla., James Mead, Sterling City, Texas, and  Austin Mead, Big Lake; one daughter, Roxanne Godlevsky; three brothers, Dennis Weber, Chicago, David Weber, Sargent Bluff, Iowa, and Donald Weber of Michigan; three sisters, Carolyn Weber, Tyrone, Barbara Treglia and husband, Jeff, Sioux City, and Sharon Larson, Bonifax, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Dorcus Mead, Hugoton.  

She was preceded in death by her parents.

o Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Miller Chapel with the Rev. David Bagwell presiding.

Burial will be at the Liberal Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. until service time at Miller Mortuary. The family will receive friends 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
