MARVIN C. ODGERS
SUBLETTE – Marvin Charles Odgers, 86, died Friday, March 6, 2009, at Satanta District Hospital.
He was born June 26, 1922, to William Jennings Bryan and Fern Louise (Decker) Odgers in Washington County.
He married Barbara Mae Field Nov. 1, 1943, in Manhattan. She died July 24, 2008.
He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a farmer and stockman.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Sublette.
Survivors include one son, Charles Marvin Odgers and wife, Rosa, Sublette; three daughters, Carol Ann Zimmerman and husband, Allen, Sublette, Karen S. Krill and husband, Tony, Wichita, and Marsha Cay Wall Blackstock and husband, John, Wilson, Texas; 10 grandchildren; six step grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Loren Verlin and Melvin Gerald Odgers, and one grandson, Field Odgers Krill.
o Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Sublette with the Rev. Keith Fink presiding.
Military graveside services will be conducted by Sublette American Legion Post No. 205 at Banner Cemetery in Sublette.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Haskell County Funeral Home.
