Virginia Reuss, 79, died Feb. 14, 2009, in Tucson, Ariz.

She was born Feb. 28, 1929, in Liberal.

She married Donald Mavro.

She then married Robert Reusss. He survives.

She was a 1946 graduate of Liberal High School. She attended Cottey College in Nevada, Mo., Kansas City Art Institute, Escuela de Bellas Ares in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, University of Guadalajara, Mexico, and Pima College, Ariz.

She was a member of the Southwest Arizona Watercolor Guild.

Other survivors include two sons, Nikos (Nancy) Reuss, Paola, and Mark (Lana) Reuss, Lexington, Ma.; two daughters, Maia (Dr. David) Cooley, Rapid City, S.D., and Dagny (John) Ontiveros, Clarksdale, Ariz.; seven grandchildren, Tommy, Donald, Jennifer, Jazen, Evelyn, Livia and Maia Rose; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
