Liberal’s 12-year-olds battled through the losers’ bracket to reach the State championship final but could not get past Ottawa.
Cimarron River lost to Ottawa 11-5. The Rattlers trailed 3-0 then scored five in the third but gave up a huge bottom of the fifth.  The Rattlers finished the season 20-6 and as State Runner-up for the second time in four years.
The 10-year-olds also played for the state championship Monday but fell short to Fort Scott 15-5. The Rattlers battled back and avenged an earlier loss to Winfield to reach the championship.
