SKEET POULTON

Skeet  Poulton, 63, died Friday, March 6, 2009, at his home, following an extended illness.

He was born May 23, 1945, to Nory and Norma Fields Poulton in Hutchinson.

He married Shirli M. Mutschler Oct. 26, 1971, in Liberal. She survives.

He graduated from Nickerson High School in 1963, attended Hutchinson Community Junior College and Seward County Community College.  

He worked at Cessna Aircraft  several years. He drove truck for Groendyke Transport, was a caretaker of the Five State Fair for 10 years, drove truck for Martin Trucking and Dave Faulke Trucking and later owned and operated his own trucking company, retiring in 1996.

He was a member of the NRA.  He coached Little League baseball and Babe Ruth baseball for many years, and he coached the Gas Capital All Stars to State Championship in 1986.

He enjoyed reading, working in his yard and collecting Eagles.   

Other survivors include three sons, Skeety Poulton and wife, Katie, Liberal, Paul Poulton and wife, Beverly, Missouri City, Texas, and Brent Poulton and wife, Molly, Ganado, Texas, two daughters, Shelisa Allen and fiancee, Buck Rodriguez, Liberal, and Cyndi Poulton, Ganado; two brothers, Gary and Jack Poulton, Hutchinson; two sisters, Glenda Clements, Muscle Shoals, Ala., and Sharon Taylor, Hutchinson; and 10 grandchildren, Eric, Jacob, Caitlin, Kevin, Kody, Chance and Taylor Jo Poulton, all of Texas, and Lucas and Garrett Poulton and Jasmine Mitchell, all of Liberal.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Barry Poulton, and one nephew, Patrick Taylor.

o Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Miller Chapel with the Rev. Bill Prater presiding.

Cremation has taken place, and private burial will take place at a later date.

Friends may sign the register book until 5 p.m. today, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. until service time Wednesday.

Memorials are sugested to the Liberal Home Health & Hospice in care of Miller Mortuary.
