ARLENE L. HASKINS MEADE – Arlene Little Haskins, 80, died Friday, April 3, 2009, at the Minneola District Hospital Long Term Care Unit. She was born June 11, 1928, to Guy and Hazel Olga Butler Little in Meade County. She married Norman Eugene Haskins June 1, 1946. He died Feb. 3, 2004. She attended a rural country school for the elementary grades, graduating from Meade High School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Meade. She taught Sunday school and was active in American Baptist Women’s Ministries. She enjoyed needlework, sewing, painting, flower arranging and various other crafts. Survivors include four children, David Haskins and wife, Leah, Dodge City, Dinah Mellard and husband, Ron, Meade, Judy Wood and husband, Phil, Orlando, Fla., and Dean Haskins and wife, Dawn, Elkins, Ark.; one brother, Benjamin “Benny” Little, Meade; eight grandchildren, Nathan Haskins, Rachel Haskins, Danielle Haskins, Dylan Haskins, Jessica Pham, Jennifer Newbery, John Wood and Joseph Wood; and five great-grandchildren. o Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Meade. Burial will be at the Graceland Cemetery. Following the burial, the family will greet friends at the First Baptist Church. Friends may call until 5 p.m. today at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary of Meade. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church of Meade or the Minneola Long Term Care Unit in care of the funeral home.
