RONALD L. JACKSON
Ronald Lee “Ronnie J.” Jackson, 64, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at his residence in Liberal.
He was born Oct. 17, 1944, to Johnny A. and Virginia (Hanna) Jackson in Dumas, Texas.
He married Jamie Rookhuyzen in April of 1969 in Liberal.
He then married Christina Conn in June of 1980 in Texas.
He graduated from Liberal High School in 1963 and was a Southwest Kansas Area Vo-Tech graduate.
He served in the United States Army from June 1965 to June 1967 during the Vietnam War stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. He was a member of the Hell Cats Army Band playing the trumpet for many generals. He had been a realtor in the Liberal area since 1975 currently working with Realty One.
He was a member of Elks Lodge No. 1947 and Southwest Kansas Board of Realtors. He had been a Kids Inc. coach of baseball and basketball.
He enjoyed golfing and was a fan of college basketball and football.
Survivors include her mother; two sons, Shane Jackson and wife, Melissa, Liberal, and Tony Jackson and wife, Kim, Liberal; one stepson, Terry Conn and wife, Donetta, Denton, Texas; two brothers, Gary Jackson and Linda, Amarillo, Texas, and Stacey Jackson, Liberal; and two grandchildren, Chandler Jackson and Brayden Jackson
He was preceded in death by his father.
o Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Assembly of God with the Rev. James Crandall presiding.
Burial will follow at Liberal Cemetery with military honors given by American Legion Post No. 80.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home with family present to greet friends from 6 to 7 p.m.
