Velma Blazer, 90, died Sunday, March 15, 2009 at Wheatridge Park Care Center in Liberal.
She was born Feb. 4, 1919, to Henry and Dona (Seago) Adams in Colbart, Okla.
She married George Conrad Jan. 14, 1939, at Duncan, Okla. He died in 1960.
She then married Wilburn Blazer Aug. 1, 1982, in Duncan. He died in July 17, 2004.
She attended Duncan High School.
She worked in dry cleaning for 25 years.
She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and taught Sunday school for 60 plus years.
She is survived by three stepsons, Kenneth Blazer and wife, Jan, Harrisonville, Mo., Melvin Blazer and Shirley, Moore, Okla., Phillip Blazer, Wichita Falls, Texas; 19 step-grandchildren; one granddaughter, Kelly Church and husband, Robert, of Florida; one great-grandson, Andrew Church; one daughter-in-law, Jean Conrad of Florida; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, George Henry Conrad, one brother, John Adams, and four sisters, her twin sister, Thelma King, Wanda Brennon, Leti Shephard and Cordelia Conrad.
o Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Jason O’Neal presiding.
Burial will be at the Forgan, Okla., Cemetery.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home.
