WAC title on the line

By EARL WATT

• Leader & Times

The Liberal Redskins have fought back from a slow start to force a sudden-death showdown with Dodge City for the Western Athletic Conference title Thursday at Redskin Field.

The soccer team struggled to a 1-2 start in the WAC but has reeled off eight consecutive wins and is currently ranked first in Class 5A in the southwest region. Dodge City is ranked second in Class 6A in the Southwest region heading in to the Thursday tilt in Liberal.

The two teams have had a history of physical, competitive games.

National Beef has bought out the game, so addmission is free as well as the first 250 hamburgers and 100 hotdogs.
