The 14th ranked Seward women put on a show in the Sports Arena in Hutchinson in the opening game of the Airport Classic hosted by the Dragons.
The Lady Saints sprinted out to a 42-5 lead in the first 13 minutes of the game and never looked back.
They led 66-7 at the halftime break and later on 91-14 before finishing the contest by winning 120-25.
The 95-point margin of victory tied the largest single game winning margin in school history, tying the 2004-05 squad that beat Newman’s JV 133-38.
The Lady Saints history making day wasn’t done yet. They set a Seward County all-time mark with 49 turnovers forced and 40 steals. Eight different Seward players reached double figures including a game high 18 from Charmaine Burns and a career high 15 from freshman Kelsey Blair.
Ashlynn Knoll pocketed another double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds in just 17 minutes of work and Kayla Thomas had 13 points and 9 rebounds in her 18 minutes of action.
Hanna Bognar scored 16 for Seward and Ricquia Jones, Anete Kirsteine, and Mattie Yanke all reached double figures as well.
Next up the Lady Saints are sure to receive more of a test as they squared off against No. 18 State Fair Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the Sports Arena.
