Obituary

THOMAS R. BENEAR

MEADE – Thomas Randall Benear, 78, died Saturday, May 9, 2009, at home in Meade. 

He was born Aug. 29, 1930, on a farm south of Meade.  

He married Betty Barnes Oct. 19, 1953, in Bloom. She survives.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953. After serving, he worked for Phillips 66, Michigan-Wisconsin Pipeline and retired from USD No. 226 as a custodian in 1996 after 28 years of service.

Other survivors include sons, Roger, Wichita, Doug (Jonna) and Darwin (Michelle), both of Meade, daughter, Teresa Wallace(Scott) of Baltimore; brother Don(Mary) Benear, Supulpa, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Edward, mother Ida, two brothers, Bob and Frank and two sisters, Mary Lennon and Marjorie Ruth.

o Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary Chapel of Meade.  

Burial will be at the Graceland Cemetery of Meade.

Friends may call from noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society through Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary.
