After a rough weekend in the Big House, Liberal traveled to Gruver, Texas, Tuesday and earned its second road victory of the season in a 57-33 rout.

Both teams shot lights out in the first quarter, but the Redskin defense settled in for the final three quarters in the blowout victory.

Seven Redskins scored in the first quarter to give the Redskins a 19-17 lead.

But the second quarter was dominated by the Angry Red. Liberal outscored Gruver 19-7 for a 38-24 halftime lead.

The Redskins cooled a bit in the second half, but the defense continued to cause problems for Gruver. The Redskins outscored Gruver 19-9 in the second half for the 57-33 win.

Liberal avoided foul trouble. No one had more than two fouls on the entire roster.

Ten Redskins scored. DeVondre Livingston led Liberal with 12, and Osvaldo Villearreal had 11. Andre Jackson scored nine.

Liberal will return to The Big House looking for their first home win against Perryton Friday.
