Shirley Bourell, 56, died Monday, June 1, 2009, at Southwest Medical Center. 

She was born May 19, 1953, to Harold Edward and Helen Ann (Vansickle) Foust in Hutchinson. 

She married Tim Bourell Aug. 10, 1974 in Hutchinson.  He survives. 

She graduated in 1971 from Trinity High School in Hutchinson and in 1975, she graduated from Pittsburgh State Universiey with a BA in Elemenrary Education. 

She was a third grade teacher at Holy Cross Catholic School in Hutchinson form 1997 to 1986 then a second grade teacher at McArthur Elementary School from 1987 to 1995 in Liberal. 

She was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Hutchinson and a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Liberal. 

She is also survived by one son, Zachary Bourell and wife, Crystal, Liberal; two daughters, Gretchen Bourell, Topeka, and Katie Kline and husband, Michael, Liberal; four brothers, Bud Foust and wife, Connie, Hutchinson, Larry Foust and wife, Shirley, Hutchinson, John Foust and wife, Debbie, Ogallala, Neb., Bill Foust and wife, Tomi, Hutchinson; three sisters, Sharon Birney and husband, Dale, Bucklin, Ardis Patterson and husband, Bob, Overland Park, Cynthia Geer, Hutchinson; three grandchildren, Celeb Kerr, Anna Bourell, and Brady Kline;  and mother-in-law, Joan Bourell, Colorado Springs, Colo. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law, Kenneth Bourell. . 

o Rosary and vigil will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Liberal. 

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Penwell – Gabel Memorial Park Cemetery in Hutchinson.

Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home. 

Memorials are suggested to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or the St. Anthony Catholic Church in care of Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Liberal, KS 67901.
