MANUEL MARTINEZ GUYMON, Okla. – Manuel Martinez, 77, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at the Memorial Hospital of Texas County. He was born Dec. 15, 1931 to Refugia (Rodriguez) and Porfirio Martinez in Zacatecas, Mexico. He married Jennie Martinez June 16, 1967, in Guymon. She died Aug. 12, 1994. He then married Guadalupe Soto Feb. 14, 2003. She survives. He worked at Adams Hardfacing as a welder until he retired in 1984. He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. He is also survived by five sons, Manuel Pete Martinez and wife, Sandra, Independence, Mo., Porfirio Martinez and wife, Patricia, Houston, Luis M. Martinez, Obeverland Park, Juan Martinez, Overland Park, and Luis Martinez, Ojinaga, Mexico; five daughters, Marie Flaker and husband, Craig, Shawnee, Cecilia Medina and husband, Jesus, Liberal, Carmen Ramirez and husband, Refugio, Trancoso, Mexico, Maria Martinez, Ojinaga, and Marta Martinez, Ojinaga; two brothers, Francisco Martinez and wife, Refugia, Zacatecas, Mexico, and Juan Martinez, Guymon; two sisters, Cruz Martinez, Chicago, Ingracia Martinez, Zacatecas; six grandchildren, Elizabeth Medina, Javier Medina, Maddux Martinez, Juan Pablo Ramirez, Elizabeth Ramirez and Guadalupe Ramirez; and many grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews and stepchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Angelica Patricia Martinez. o Funeral services were at 10 a.m. today. at the Henson-Novak Funeral Chapel, with the Rev.
