JESSE SHOOK


Jesse Shook, 88, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at his residence in Liberal.
He was born June 1, 1920, to George W. and Lanta Tannehill Barrow Shook in Vinita, Okla.
He married Ruby Dolline “Dolly” Rose June 8, 1946, in Liberal.  She survives.


He was employed for 40 years as a shift engineer for Northern Natural/Enron, owned and operated the Sonshine Daycare for nine years and was a door greeter at Wal-Mart for six years. He was a World War II veteran serving in Philippines and New Guenie and was honored with the Purple Heart.
He was a member of Church for All Nations, formerly Christian Life Center, and a life member of the VFW and American Legion.


Other survivors include one son, Jesse Leon Shook and wife, Linda, Garden City; three daughters, Sandra Elaine Gordon and husband, Glen, Kingfisher, Okla., Linda Carol Agosto, Liberal, and Bonnie Jean Renfrow, Lewisville, Texas; one brother, Dean Shook, Beaver, Okla.; 20 grandchildren, Scott Eudey and wife, Misa, Danielle Constante and husband, Sam, Tim Eudey,  Hillary Jarrard and husband, Chris, Christina Renfrow, Jonna Gordon, Alesha Gordon, Kenneth Gordon, Fawn Black and husaband, Kevin, Atticus Agosto, Shane Agosto, Brittney Agosto, Ashley Hladik and husband, Ryan, Jessica Shook and Jonathon Shook; nine great-grandchildren, Taylor Eudey, Abriela Constante, Brandon Jarrard, Kaden Gordon, Karson Gordon, Carmen Shook, Timothy Madden, Alan Madden and Katylena Black; 56 foster children; one sister-in-law, Bea Reagan and husband, Oscar, Beaver, Okla.; and one brother-in-law, Bill Rose and wife, Drueen, Beaver, Okla.


He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Vernon, Duard, Arlan and Delmer, and two sisters, Jewell Thomason and Lee Thomason.
o Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Church for All Nations with Pastors Ken Willard and Dan Mejia presiding,
Burial will be at Liberal Cemetery with military honors by the Fort Riley Honor Guard.


Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home
