A Thursday night brawl resulted in a stabbing which left two men wounded, according to a press release from Liberal Police Sgt. Robert Rogers.
“On Thursday, July 23rd, 2009, at about 8:50 p.m., Liberal Police Officers responded to the 200 block of West Sixth Street in regard to a fight in progress,” Rogers noted. “It was determined that a fight had taken place between two 23-year-old males and a 36-year-old male.
“One of the subjects received a large laceration on his head, while another sustained two stab wounds,” Rogers continued. “Both subjects were transported to Southwest Medical Center by (emergency medical technicians). One was treated and released, while the other was admitted with non-life threatening injuries. A vehicle window was also broken during the disturbance.
“Police later served a search warrant at a nearby residence in order to collect weapons and other evidence of the crimes,” he noted. “As a result of the investigation, two people were arrested. The case has been referred to the Seward County Attorney’s office for determination of criminal charges. The investigation is on-going.”
