Philip John Duncan, 55, died Friday, Aug. 21, 2009, at Southwest Medical Center.
He was born July 24, 1954, to John H. and Phyllis J. (Nordyke) Duncan in Hugoton.
He was a 1972 graduate of Hugoton High School. He attended Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Goodwell for three years then the Liberal School of Hair Design.
He worked at Stepping Stone Shelter in attendant care. He had also been a self employed hairdresser and a bartender at many establishments. He was a floral designer having completed Dean’s Design school in Wichita.
He was very active in the past in drama and theater.
Survivors include his father, John H. Duncan, Liberal; two sisters, Cynthia D. Reardon and husband, Harold, Tyrone, Okla., and Colleen Towns, Liberal; three nieces, Heather Romero and husband, Danny, Hooker, Okla., Misty Towns, Liberal, and Hailey Donaldson and husband, Bryan, Liberal; and great nephews and nieces, Laci, Bevan and Dylan Romero, Ashlye and Opal Reardon, Alex and Erick Yanez, and Bailey and Brody Donaldson.
He was also preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Duncan and his grandparents.
o Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at the First Baptist Church in Liberal with the Rev. David Bagwell presiding.
Burial will follow at the Hugoton Cemetery.
Friends may call until 7 p.m. today at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to Stepping Stone Shelter or St. Catherine Hospice and may be sent in care of Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home, 1212 W. 2nd, Liberal, KS, 67901.
