HUGOTON – Virginia Helen Brooks, 81, died Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, at Satanta Long Term Care Unit.
She was born Feb. 26, 1928, to Earl Wickham and Mary Hazel (Young) Brooks in Canon City, Colo.
She married Joseph “Joe” Thompson Brooks Jr. Sept. 3, 1948, in Canon City. He survives.
She was a homemaker.
Other survivors include one brother, Glen Lee Brooks of Tennessee; two sisters, Wanda Marie Fancer, Canon City, and Nelda May Brooks Rutt, Denver; and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Kenneth Earl Brooks.
o Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hugoton Cemetery with Minister Randy Nash presiding.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Paul’s Funeral Home.
