Erma “Jean” Niblett, 82, died Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City.

She was born April 30, 1927, to James F. and Laura A. Hale Whiteley in Summers, Ark.

She married Hushell E. Niblett June 13, 1985, in Liberal. He died June 6, 1990.

She attended school in Gentry, Ark.

She was a waitress for many years at various cafes in Liberal.

She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary of Liberal.

She is survived by one daughter, Karolyn William and husband, Wayne, Dodge City; two brothers, Roy Whiteley, Liberal, and Bob Whiteley, Jay, Okla.; one sister, Florence Leach, Springfield, Mo.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

o Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Liberal Cemetery.

Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday with the family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Miller Mortuary.
