The Meade Buffaloes continued their recent dominance of Southwestern Heights, defeating the Mustangs 50-13.
Meade jumped all over Heights and led 35-0 at the end of the first quarter. They added another 15 points in the second quarter to take a 50-0 lead in at halftime.
"It was ugly the first half," Mustangs coach Matt Scripsick said. "Meade could do whatever they wanted."
Heights did play better in the second half, but against heavy substitutions by Meade. Roger Martinez scored in the third on a four-yard run to get the Mustangs on the board. Ben Johnsrud, who finished the game with 104 yards rushing on just eight carries, scored on a 69-yard run in the third quarter.
"We played hard, and had kids in the right places they were just better than us," Scripsick said.
Heights falls to 0-3, and faces another tough road challenge when they head to highly-ranked Stanton County, Friday.
