C.F. WEBB

ELKHART – C.F. “Red” Webb, 92, died Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009, at his daughter’s home in Lubbock, Texas.

He was born Oct. 17, 1916, to Jack and Nancy (Taylor) Webb in Texas County, Okla.

He married Guyneth Hargrove in 1942. She preceded him in death in 1984.

He attended country school in Texas County.

He worked as a farmer and rancher.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 335 in Guymon, Okla., for more than 50 years and James Church of God in rural Texas County.

He enjoyed pitching horseshoes and even went to horseshoe pitching competitions, dancing and playing the harmonica.

He is survived by two daughters, Sue Myers and husband, Joe, Lubbock, Texas, Lou Bookstore and husband, Nick, Eva, Okla.; one sister, Louise Fairchild, Kansas City, Mo.; grandchildren, ReNay Viaille and husband, Vince, Lubbock,  Todd Cooper and wife, Tammy, Wichita, Jeff LaRue and wife, Mandy, Elkhart, Julie Spath and husband, Drew, (currently serving in Afghanistan), Fort Richardson, Alaska; and great-grandchildren, Hayden and Chandler Viaille, Lubbock, Mack and Madi Cooper, Wichita, Whitlee and Mason LaRue, Elkhart, and Zachary, Joshua and Jacob Spath, Fort Richardson.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Tom, John, Gus, Harry and Ernest; and three sisters, Rosie, Rachael and May.

o Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Church of God in Elkhart with Pastor Les Jackson presiding.

Burial will follow at the Elkhart Cemetery with Masonic Rites conducted by the Guymon Masonic Lodge No. 335.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m.  today with family present from 2 to 4 p.m. at Garnand Funeral Home of Elkhart.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Eva Community Center, First Church of God or donor’s choice, all in care of Garnand Funeral Home, P.O. Box 854, Elkhart, KS 67950.
