MURPHY, Texas – Izador (Ike) Hardin, 91, died Wednesday, May 1, 2013.

He was born on Aug. 15, 1921, in Memphis, Texas, to Ben and Lottie Hardin.

He married Lillian Juanelle (Nell) Siddle May 23, 1944, in Memphis. They were married for 68 years.

He served five years in the Army Air Force during World War II as a tail gunner on a B17 and he completed 50 missions.

He was a decorated war veteran, including a Medal of Valor.

After World War II, he moved to Liberal for 30 years, where he opened Hardin Office Supply, and later Tri-State Office Products.

He was a charter member and deacon at the Western Avenue Church of Christ in Liberal.

He was the 1955 Liberal Pancake Day Chairman and a member and past president of the Liberal Noon Kiwanis Club.

He later resided in Amarillo, Texas; Mountain Home, Ark.; and Murphy.

Survivors include his wife; son Monte Hardin and wife, Sharon, Little Rock, Ark.; daughter Susan Barr and husband, John, Garland, Texas; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Kenneth, infant daughter, and granddaughter Crystal Cathey.

• Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the DFW National Cemetery.
