Ivan L. Wharran, 82, died Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.

He was born Sept. 19, 1927, to Forrest E. and Eva J. Ford Wharran in Readlyn, Saskatchewan, Canada.

He married Mary Lou Cain April 4, 1952, at Tyrone, Okla. She survives.

He was in sales at J.C. Penney Store. He later was produce, assistant and co-manager of both North and South Ideal Stores for many years. He owned and operated Wharran Landscaping from the 1990 to present.

He was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church of Liberal.

He is also survived by one son, Roger Wharran, Liberal; one daughter, Robin Harper and husband, Robert, Liberal; one brother, Harvey Wharran, London, Ontario, Canada; three grandchildren, Jessica Wharran, Rose Epperley and Matthew Harper and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, David Wharran, four brothers and five sisters.

o Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, with Pastor John Teeter presiding.

Burial will be at the Tyrone Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Miller Mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to  St Paul United Methodist Church in care of the mortuary.
