ULYSSES – Lula Mae Foxworthy, 97, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010, at the Legacy at Park View in Ulysses.

She was born Feb. 14, 1912, to Alfred and Iola (Gabriel) Comer in Excelsior, Mo.

She married Johnnie Foxworthy in California, Mo. He preceded her in death.

She was a nurse aid at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses for several years.

She was a member of the Hopewell Union Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Nina Foxworthy and husband, Junior, Ulysses; one brother, John Comer, Jefferson City, Mo.; one sister, Lucille Barbour, Clarksburg, Mo.; one granddaughter, Beverly Milburn, Ulysses; two great-grandchildren, Clint Lee and Tyra Olson; five great-great-grandchildren, Sara and Shane Olson, and Brevon, Bryson and Maslyn Lee; and other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ralph and Henry Comer; and two sisters, Irene Scott and Margaret Gish.

o Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Country View Baptist Church in Ulysses with Pastor Sam Bynum presiding.

Burial will be at the Ulysses Cemetery.

Frineds may call until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Grant County Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
