Obituary

HUGOTON – Laura Loraine Farmer Kessler, 50, died Saturday, Feb. 27, 2009, at Niagara Falls, N.Y.

She was born Jan. 12, 1960, to Donald M. Farmer and the former Sylvia Ann Codgin in Twin Falls, Idaho.

She married John Rowden in 1975.

She then married Martin Kessler in 1998 in Canon City, Colo. He preceded her in death.

She served as animal control officer in the city of Lamar. She owned and operated Laura’s Knick Knacks, a Christian bookstore and gift shop in Canon City for several years.

Survivors include her father, Don and stepmother, Ruth, Hugoton; step-father, Charles Hinklin of Cotopaxi, Colo.;one son, Jeremy Scott Rowden and wife, Jennifer, Haggerstown, Md.; one daughter, Natasha Betts of Colorado;  three brothers, John Farmer and wife, Lora, Goodland,  Glen Farmer and wife, Nimfa, Floral City, Fla., and Andy Farmer and wife, Mary, Hugoton; one sister, Linda Williams, Hugoton; two grandchildren, Cody James Rowden and Amelia Justine Rowden; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her mother.

o Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 8, at Hugoton Assembly of God Church with Pastor Ben Coats presiding.

Burial will follow at Hugoton Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 7, at Garnand Funeral Home of Hugoton.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the Hospice of Niagra Falls, New York, both in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 423 S. Main, Hugoton, KS 67951.
