Ronald Roy Miller, 71, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017 at his home in Liberal. 

He was born April 20, 1946 to Lewis and Mildred (Foster) Miller in Garden City. 

He married Sherry Salley July 11, 1980 in Guymon, Okla. She survives.

He worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Kansas Dept. of Transportation, from which he retired after 35 years. 

He enjoyed listening to Bill and Gloria Gaither Southern Gospel Music, watching old Western movies, volunteering at the Liberal Good Samaritan Center, assisting his friend Paul Quiring, and helping out at his church. 

He also loved spending time with his family and enjoyed going on many road trips with them. 

He was a member of the South Church of God.

Survivors also include sons, Paul Salley and wife, Sharlene, Liberal, and Ray Ronald Wilson, Dighton; brothers, Melvin Miller, San Diego, and Kenny Miller, Perkins, Okla.; sister, Velma Chitwood, TeXas; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Charlotte Goldy, Liberal. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Eldon Miller; and sisters, Carol and Ruby Miller. 

• Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017 at the South Church of God with Pastor Arlen Ankle presiding.

Burial will follow at the Liberal City Cemetery in Liberal.

Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9, 2017 at Miller Mortuary in Liberal with the family present to greet friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the South Church of God Building Fund in care of Miller Mortuary.
