PLAINS – Ruth Irene (Clifford) Ramsey, 96, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, at the Lone Tree Retirement Center in Meade.

She was born Aug. 18, 1921 to William Joseph and Elva (Summers) Clifford in Mullinville.  

She married Craig A. Ramsey July 3, 1946 in Meade. He preceded her in death Dec. 14, 1997.

She attended Mullinville Grade School and graduated from Mullinville High School in 1940.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Plains and worked at various businesses.  

She enjoyed cross stitching, quilting, working crossword puzzles, spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include son, Craig R. Ramsey and wife, Barbara, Overland Park; daughter, Betty Lee Richie, Lenexa; brothers, Eldon Clifford and wife, Katie, Las Vegas, and Ralph Clifford and wife, Betty, Neosho, Mo.; sisters, Thelma Colleen Harris and husband, Elgin, Bixby, Okla., and Kaye Deyo and husband, Don, Monument, Colo.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter; daughter, Judy Conway; granddaughter, Lisa Kelly; four brothers; five sisters; son-in-law, Gene Conway; and son-in-law, Jim Richie.

 Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018 at the Plains United Methodist Church with the Reverend Dan Biernacki presiding. 

Burial will follow the service at the Plains Cemetery in Plains.  

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, 2018 at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary in Meade or from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018. 

Memorials are suggested to the Lone Tree Retirement Center, Hospice of the Prairie or the Plains United Methodist Church all in care of the funeral home.
