FORGAN, Okla.— The No.2 Forgan Bulldogs looked in good form Tuesday night as they hosted county rival Balko in an 87-35 romp.

“It was a good game for us,” Bulldogs coach Todd Kerr said. “We had a lot of guys who got to play a lot of minutes and have some fun. Balko has some kids who are going to compete and make you work, and we did a good job getting ourselves going.”

Forgan started well, jumping out to a 12-2 lead, and still led by seven at the end of the first quarter (16-9).

Another big run (11-0) by the Bulldogs put Forgan up by 19 less than three minutes into the second quarter, 29-10.

Forgan outscored the Bison 24-6 over the entire quarter to take a 40-15 lead at half.

The Bulldogs continued their offensive output in the second half, scoring 47 points in the half while continuing to increase the lead steadily to 52.

Forgan shot 61 percent (34-56) from 2-point range, while Balko shot 29 percent (11-38). Forgan took 77 shots to just 46 for Balko.

Jace Kerr led the Bulldogs with 17 points, all in the first half. Trevin Lopez added 15, Demetrius Alston 13, Cameron Vanatta 12, and Chandler Bryer 10. All ten Bulldogs in uniform scored.

Grady Frantz led the Bison with 9.

Even with the impressive win, Kerr sees how much more this team is capable of.

“The thing I like the most about this team is that I think there is tremendous upside,” Kerr said. “I don’t feel like we are where we can be. There is so much room for improvement. We see it in two or three minute spurts. I think were capable of so much more.”

Both teams are finished until after Christmas break. Forgan (7-0) will host Follett, Texas January 4th, and Balko (2-4) will travel to Beaver January 3rd.
