Liberal’s middle schools hosted volleyball Monday against the Garden City middle schools.

Eisenhower’s eighth grade came away with two wins, knocking off Horace Good 26-24, 25-21 and then defeating Kenneth Henderson 25-15, 25-18.

Seymour Rogers earned a split, defeating Kenneth Henderson 14-25, 25-15, 15-4 before losing to Horace good 7-25, 16-25.

The seventh grade Lady Warriors defeated Kenneth Henderson 25-8, 25-9.  Jenna Ormiston served 11 points in the win with three kills. Rachelle Terrazas served 13 points with seven aces.

The Lady Warriors then defeated Horace Good 25-9, 25-18.  Ormiston served nine in a row with four kills. 

“Lexi Hensley lit up their defense by recording an impressive 10 kills,” Eisenhower seventh grade coach Jodi Malick said. 

Ileyah Ross recorded three serves with two aces. The Lady Warriors (6-0) head to Holcomb Thursday and the Ulysses Tournament Saturday.

The Lady Apache seventh graders came close to an opening win but fell short against Horace Good 25-21, 26-28, 13-15.

The Lady Apaches again went three sets against Kenneth Henderson and lost another close third set, 25-27, 25-17, 13-15.

“The girls came out and played very competitive in both games and put some good things together, but some missed serving errors and a few out of alignment cost us,” Seymour Rogers seventh grade coach Pat Knott said.
