Kismet Library Board hosting annual spaghetti dinner, giving away Hank the Cowdog books Print

The Kismet Public Library Board of Trustees will host its annual spaghetti dinner on Friday, Feb. 25. The dinner will be served from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Kismet Pavilion on Main Street in Kismet. A free will donation will be accepted. Proceeds from the dinner will benefit the building fund at the library.
The menu for the dinner includes the following: spaghetti and meat sauce, tossed garden salad, buttered bread and dessert. Carry-out meals will be available.
Entertainment for the evening will feature drawings for several autographed copies of Hank the Cowdog books by John Erickson.  The drawing for the Donation Quilt Package 2011 will also be conducted at the event.
The Donation Quilt Package 2011 exhibits a western theme with the “Horsing Around” pattern used for this year’s quilt. The quilt top measures 55 inches by 74 inches with cotton batting and a flannel back. Louise Wyrick crafted the quilt top, and Traci Eakes completed the machine quilting.
Completing the package are the newest five books in the Hank the Cowdog series, autographed by author John Erickson. Book titles include The Quest for the Great White Quail, Drover’s Secret Life, The Case of the Dinosaur Birds, The Case of the Secret Weapon and The Coyote Invasion.
Donation tickets may be purchased from any of the Kismet Public Library Board of Directors or at the Kismet Public Library. The suggested donation is $1 per ticket or $5 for six tickets. Proceeds generated by donation ticket sales will be deposited into the library’s building fund. For more information, call the library at 563-7357.
