TEXHOMA, Okla.— The Hooker Bulldogs moved to 5-0 on the season and got their district schedule started 1-0 with a 22-7 win over Texas County rival, the Texhoma-Goodwell Red Devils.

The Bulldogs have dominated most of their opponents this year, winning their first four games of the season by an average score of 44-11, and racking up almost 400 yards per game.

Friday night the Bulldogs hit just enough big plays, limited their mistakes and took advantage of enough of Texhoma-Goodwell's five turnovers. Both of Hooker's first half scores came off of Texhoma turnovers, and came from big plays. First, junior quarterback Donovan Yarbrough hit junior reciever Karder Neville in the flat, and Neville took care of the rest, going 70 yards for the scored. A botched extra point kept the score at 6-0 with 10:10 left in the first half.

Then after Cade Fischer snagged his second interception of the game in Red Devil territory, Yarbrough hit a wide-open Nick Barrios over the middle from 38 yards out with 1:10 left in the half. Yarbrough ran in the conversion to give the Bulldogs a 14-0 lead at the half.

Texhoma-Goodwell quarterback Bode Grice moved the Red Devils into scoring position in the fourth quarter and finally got them on the scoreboard with a 4 yard TD run with 10:10 still left to play.

But it was the Red Devils final turnover and Hooker's opportunistic play that put the game out of reach. Texhoma-Goodwell was forced to punt from their own endzone, but a high snap went over the punters head and Hooker was able to fall on top of it for the touchdown. A two-point conversion put the Bulldogs up 22-7 with just over nine minutes to play.

Hooker (5-0, 1-0) will travel to Okeene Friday for another district contest.
