A Liberal man was injured in an accident Thursday morning in Ford County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said the accident happened shortly after 8 a.m. at Mile Post 112 on U.S. Highway 56 at 104 Road.

The agency said a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer was eastbound on Hwy. 56, when the driver lost control of the vehicle due to icy roads. The Trailblazer then entered the north ditch and rolled.

The driver, Douglas Rayo-Cornejo, 43, of Liberal was taken to Western Plains Regional Hospital with injuries. KHP said he was wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident.
